Yeah, we had thought about scheduling a trip out to Cincinnati to see the eclipse…

Who else is taking part in the Masonic take over and welcoming the New Order? I personally cannot wait. I’ve been promised my very own cat army.

      I was only joking

Well what actually happened is I was told that if I signed up as a foot soldier with the Masons then I’d get unlimited pussy. As usual I failed to read the fine print.

Home would have been 91% but I’m in Siesta Key so we’re looking at 55%.

They’ll end up, after a lot of drama, with the same formula they use every time they have a trifecta: take away health care and food assistance from low income families and use the money to fund tax cuts for their donors.

@jon-nyc I'd say say hi to my folks but they're in Austin now to see the totality.

My dad taught astronomy so this is kind of a big deal for him. I'm glad he's seeing it out there.

                    Please love yourself.

We’re headed up to Island Pond, Vermont. (we have family nearby) Supposed to have a couple minutes totality so that’ll be kinda neat. First time I’ve ever seen heavy traffic this far north, lol.

Through my eclipse glasses with the iPhone, I should be able to see the eclipse we'll only be around 80%

I wonder if that is true? Like... will you see the "diamond ring" and have the black-out experience of totality? Sincere question, I've only seen it at like 80% (Syracuse in 2017) and people walking around had no idea since it was just as bright out.

Here is a sunrise solar eclipse in Nov 2013, taken with my big camera (zoomed in obv).

Fun info about the coincidence of the sun and moon having the same angular size (aka the odds the moon blocks the sun but lets just enough light to create the ring effect)

That website asks for your zip code and then gives you times that are in a different time zone. Without ever specifying which time zone they're using. JERKS.

Someone on my town's FB page asked if anyone had spare eclipse glasses she could use.

I thought about replying, "No, but I'll have about 4 pairs tomorrow. YOu're welcome to them."

But, being the gentleman I am, I didn't.
