Claude Lévi-Strauss would appreciate the times we live in. Myth or in our case narrative shouldn't be evaluated as to whether it is true or false, but rather effective or not effective. This one was effective - and taken with the trans day messaging - a powerful one. AND that assumes that the Independent is telling the "truth"...

Excellent points. I would be happy to admit I got suckered in as well, but I also wouldn’t be surprised if the answer is somewhere in between. Plus, removing religious imagery from a religious observance is wrong. I get there’s a Church/State thing there, but…

It's also impossible, so it's stupid to try.

Biden made that announcement in 2022.

So what if Easter fell on 31 March 2024? It won’t fall on 31 March again until 2086.

In 2086 it won’t be an issue for feigned indignation and outrage. Instead it will be forgotten in the archives or a footnote some history books.

And some people wonder why I am apathetic.

            Elbows up!

The thinking is probably that the "Easter Egg hunt" is not a religious observance, just a tradition that happens to fall on The Trans Day of Something or Other Easter.

It predates Christianity as it predates Judaism.

Pretty confident rainbows even predate the dinosaurs. Something to do how the laws of physics act upon the refraction of visible light in the atmosphere. Nothing to do with man made organised religion at all.

Yeah but can your “science” explain why the rain falls?

                @Aqua-Letifer

                ...YES.

                Yes it can.

Sort of not? It seems to me science describes gravity rather than explains it. And that’s the case for the Newtonian explanation as well as general relativity.

They’ll end up, after a lot of drama, with the same formula they use every time they have a trifecta: take away health care and food assistance from low income families and use the money to fund tax cuts for their donors.

Likely not, but he certainly hasn't seen the cartoon, which is how far back that quote goes. For whatever reason, it's some dumb shit 89th and I both remember as roommates.

I saw The Way of the Water and rooted for the bad guys from the opening scene. Not to be contrarian, I didn’t know who was who and just thought the heroes were dicks coming out of the gate.

Never saw the cartoon. In fact I found out there was one reading aquas posts.

The cartoon is how they financially justified making the movie.
