Originally it was not Christian.
Originally it wasn't religious at all. Then somebody made up a story about it.
I know, buzzkill for Easter.

Buzzkill for Noah too....

Really? I thought it was Old Testament.
How does that make it non-Christian?
It doesn't. However, the rainbow was a symbol of God's covenant with man after the Great Flood, wasn't it? And a symbol of the promise to never destroy the world with water. Originally it was not Christian.
It predates Christianity as it predates Judaism. It is a part of both traditions.

I've always been a little concerned about the excessive amounts of incest that must have gone on directly after the flood.
So much for getting rid of sin.

It predates Christianity as it predates Judaism.
Pretty confident rainbows even predate the dinosaurs. Something to do how the laws of physics act upon the refraction of visible light in the atmosphere. Nothing to do with man made organised religion at all.

All items in iconography predates man’s attempts at explaining the universe. Cats predate the ancient Egyptians. The stars and their formations predate ancient Greeks and sailors. That’s irrelevant to the conversation. The story of Noah and the flood predates the existence of Judaism and Christianity, but the symbolism involved is in both religions. Biden was explicit. No religious imagery at the Whitehouse tomorrow.

But it's only for children of the National Guard.
Presumably other religious imagery is OK.
Right?
Will the Sisters of Satan make an appearance?
Actually...
Children also can't promote material that promotes "bigotry, racism, hatred or harm against any group or individual or promotes discrimination based on race, gender, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation or age" in their designs.
Can I say that my Easter egg painting of Christ on the cross doesn't promote "discrimination based on...religion?"

Yeah but can your “science” explain why the rain falls?

...YES.
Yes it can.

Of course it’s irrelevant. That’s why I posted it. The symbolism behind imaginary bunny rabbits bearing chocolate confections for kids is irrelevant fun as well.

It's a little known fact that the first covenant God made was with the dinosaurs and involved a large asteroid.
The northern lights were a promise that he'd never pull that shit again.
Personally, I don't trust him.

Per the Independent....
(But this year’s celebrations have been marred as Republican politicians and commentators falsely accused President Joe Biden’s administration of banning religious themes and symbols from the celebration’s art contest — failing to note that the policy has been in place during every administration for almost 50 years.
Much of the backlash began after Fox News published an article with the headline, “Religious-themed designs banned from White House Easter egg art contest,” citing a poster about the event that said religious symbols and themes are banned from submissions. Mr Trump shared the article on his social media platform, Truth Social — however, he did not comment on the article in his post.
