Then she killed his unborn son.
Michael wasn't the only monster.
Yes when the motivation for an abortion is to deprive the father of the child he wanted, it puts a different spin on it.

Somewhere, I read that Coppola hid the gun - it was in a different location from where it had been placed during rehearsals. That way, Pacino had to feel around to find it.
His hand glides right over the place he eventually pulls it from. Seems like there was never a gun there in one shot, then in the next shot it starts in his hand, and they add a sound effect where the gun detaches from the tank. But I wasn't the director of Godfather so you should take my opinion with a grain of salt. Bottom line, Coppola knows more than I do about the making of that movie, and I am humble enough to admit that.

I used to do stupid movie reviews all the time, and would maintain a Top 10 list. It used to be Back to the Future, but once I saw Godfather, that took the top spot.
Total side note, I re-watched Interstellar last night. That movie is so incredibly good, and hits differently now that I have a kid, which is central to the whole movie plot.

Randomly watched a bit of The Godfather again tonight. It finally occurred to me that the restaurant assassination scene makes no sense. Since the Corleones knew where the meeting would be, they could have just ambushed them there. No need for Michael to risk it alone. Sonny even suggests they shoot them in the car at the pickup spot until Hagen says the targets might not even be in the car. So an ambush is already on the table and considered reasonable. Why not do it at the restaurant?
