Navalny dead

He'll be erased and forgotten within 20 2 years.
Don’t confuse the apparent passivity of ordinary Russians with having short memories. That’s a Western trait. Russian people do not forget, but they do get even.

Fair point.
Any clue of how Navalny is perceived in Russia?

Difficult for me to say. The repression is pretty severe and people are cowed into passivity almost as they were during the Brezhnev era.
What I can tell you is that among the pro Putin diaspora here, the Kremlin’s propaganda painting him as a CIA schill and moral degenerate has been very effective.

Next jailed “enemy of the people” (vrag naroda) on Putin’s murder list: Vladimir Kara-Murza

Funny you should say that, my Russian friend of some renown just posted "Не забудем! Не простим!", which the translator tells me means "Lest we forget! We will not forgive!" on his Facebook page.

If he says “when you chop wood, chips fly” we will know for certain that he has been co-opted and is on the Kremlin payroll. Codename: Tucker Duranty

I don't remember much about the documentary, but I never understood what Navalny decided to return to Russia.
What did he think would happen, Putin would engage in a discussion?
Staying abroad would have resulted in political insignificance.

I agree. A white paper I saw said the same thing. He felt so strongly about it, that it would not be right to talk about the hard times that Russians were going through with him living in a safe location outside of the country. He felt that his words would have more meaning and be more powerful if he was inside Russia.
I am not sure I would be strong enough to do that, but powerful that he did.

Interesting that Nalvany dead is more effective than a live Joe Biden.

How so? Or better, just how do you connect Navalny’s death with Biden’s effectiveness in office? I hope you don’t think his death is about America or its current dysfunctional political scene.
But as an aside - yet at centre stage of American dysfunction- it has not gone unnoticed that Trump has yet to make any mention either by word or through his beloved social media regarding Navalny’s death. I would suggest the reticence to be just bit out of character for the attention craving big mouth. That, or Trump is waiting for the results of the Kremlin’s autopsy report so he can affirm that he has no reason not to believe what Mr. Putin tells the world about Navalny’s demise in state custody is true. Just like in Helsinki back in 2018 when Putin gave Trump the same verbal barrage and PsyOps treatment he gave that FuCa last week.

Who do you think will be remembered more positively in 20 years by their fellow citizens?

Okay go ahead, answer questions with questions.
I’ll tell you. It probably won’t be Trump or Putin.

May that day be very, very soon. He deserves to die at the haNd of the people.

There are a lot in of frozen Russian assets throughout the West that could be seized and sold off for reparations to Ukraine.
Just might happen now.

Might. If, after Russia invaded another country, the still have these assets, something tells me that it will not happen. It's only been 2 years...

Not likely soon. Unlike past Russian autocrats and leaders, Putin makes sure Russians have easy access to food and that his fighting soldiers are comparatively well paid. So long as the people do not go hungry and his troops have cash, the national passivity will continue.

Anyway, getting back to American elections, how does everybody think the sun exploding would affect voter turnout?
