Not that I shoot with film, but I can also imagine it really makes you appreciate each shutter.... whereas when I take a pic with even my iPhone (or DSLR) I take like 20 pics and then pick the best one.
Defo. That's why John Free (who's a wonderful nutter, by the way) always claims that if you want to get better with photography, take fewer pictures. It's a pithy statement, but he's only referring to being deliberate with your shutter.

Back to the topic, Kodak shares are up like 2,000% in the last 3 days, including another 300% today. Bananas.
2,000%. Keep in mind a 10% return in a year is a decent year.
Maybe with all that extra bank they can bring back Kodachrome for shit's sake!!

Aren't they still down from their high level from years ago? Have not they been decreasing for a number of years? LOL

They're a shell of their former selves, but they never fully went away, and prior to this huge jump, they had incremental quarterly increases for the past year. Lot of people are getting back into film.

I remember after they were starting to get their lunch eaten by digital one of their strategy folks talked about how they’d make up for it because Asia was behind the curve in take up of photography so they would grow there.
As if there was some iron law of nature that the Chinese needed to use film for a few decades before they could switch to digital.

Hmmm, maybe my Vintage Nikon F2 and FE are worth more than they were a couple of years ago?
Generally speaking, the lenses are where the money's at, not necessarily the bodies.

Nikon is the only film SLR remaining. $2,500.00

Leica has a couple of rangfinders. $5,200.00

and $5,300.00

I think a pro level, Vintage F2 will sell for a lot more than it was selling for, if not already, soon.
A working, near mint, one owner, FE with motordrive, original 50mm f1.8 lens, will probably enjoy a similar increase in value.

Check out keh.com for used prices. They have a Nikon F2 body in excellent condition going for $123.76.
Yours might be in a different situation, I dunno, but generally speaking, lenses hold their value, and bodies don't.

Yup still down. Just remarkable they’ve gone up 20x in a matter of 3 days. I’d be curious if anyone bought a large number of shares last week or over the weekend.

That's so awesome.

The CEO. LOL Just read something that he bought something like 50000 shares a week or two ago. He spent USD$100,000 and it is now much much higher.
(But the article said that he has been buying shares consist over time, so this was not really unusual and they do not think anything was weird about it).
