Anyone use a Butter Bell?
-
Game changer.
I’m no culinary expert and perhaps this was already common knowledge? Until now I was fine (and still am) using spreadable butters or similar products stored in the fridge.
But my wife bought a Butter Bell and it works so well. Keeps (real) butter on counter for up to a month. Water keeps it air tight. And it’s perfectly spreadable on even the weakest bread.

Nope. No real need. A stick of butter stays good in a regular butter dish on the counter for ~ 2 weeks. I don’t know about you, but we use butter faster than that.

I think we did that growing up. I thought it's not supposed to be out more than 2 days or so?

Meh. Most of those guidelines are in CYA territory for the FDA. I’ve never had a stick of butter go longer than a week without being eaten, unless we’ve been on vacation, I’ve only ever thrown out a stick of butter once. That was when we got back from a 2 week trip.
There’s little protein or carbs in butter. Mold and bacteria don’t like it. We use unsalted, but I understand that salted will last even longer.
