If Vivek accepts a VP position, he'll make himself a liar, as he's been clear that he would not accept, if offered.

Imaging the pressure on a GOP governor of GA if he gets convicted. Kemp might just ride it out, though.

It's also an easy story to tell. "Well I wasn't interested in being VP, but when the president asks you to serve your country...."

How will the Trumpists react if a VP were to invoke the 25th on Trump?
More peaceful selfie-takings at or near the White House?

A couple of posts behind… But here’s one for you. What if Trump runs on the premise that he’s going to jail and has personally selected ————— (VP) to serve in his stead as a surrogate. Trump gets to be elected president Aaaand gets to be kingmaker all at the same time.

That would require Trump publicly admitting to (1) losing all these court cases, (2) going to jail, (3) his inability to do the POTUS job. You think Trump will be willing to admit to any of those?

Even if that’s the plan, when do you think the Trump campaign will publicly say that that is the plan? When do you think would be the best (or “least bad”) time for a Presidential campaign to make such a public announcement? Before Iowa/New Hampshire primaries? Before South Carolina? Before Super Tuesday? After the the primary? At the national Republican Convention?

And imagine the campaign ads and talking points from Trump’s opponents after the Trump campaign announces such a plan!

Well reasoned and stated. My daughter and I had a similar if in much more depth conversation on the way today.

                        https://www.yahoo.com/news/gop-presidential-candidate-vivek-ramaswamy-221416646.html

"Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy said China could invade Taiwan without major consequences from the U.S. once he has hypothetically attained the nation’s “semiconductor independence” in 2028."

ANd I am guessing he will solve the Ukraine invasion the same way.

Heard the first fringey think from Vivek recently. He hand waves our participation in the Ukraine war as motivated entirely by bribes to Biden via Hunter. I’m all for pushing back against the moral panic that is American culture’s support for Ukraine, but the notion that it would be totally different without the Hunter bribes is ridiculous.

Yeah, that's nuts. Is he saying this because he actually believes it, or is he pandering to capture the crazy vote?

ad homs about low moral character are the first line of defense against anybody not fully on board with a pro Ukraine narrative. I don’t mean that’s the only reason anybody wants the US to support Ukraine. I just mean that’s the reasoning of the masses.
