Do you think he means it, or just considers it table stakes for the GOP primary?

Vivek is running for VP. And let’s face it, if Trump wins the election and loses in GA, that means the Presidency as the 25th will have to be invoked.

Of course he is. They all are except DeSantis, Christie, and Pence. At least of the major candidates.

The interesting question is what happens when VP Ramaswamy invokes the 25th because Trump can not actually run the office of President in jail.

Of course, there’s also the question of what Kemp decides…

If Vivek accepts a VP position, he'll make himself a liar, as he's been clear that he would not accept, if offered.

I think he has some genuine respect for the job Trump did as president. The advisor stuff seems like empty talk.

Maybe at 38 he's running for cabinet secretary and a 30 year future in the GOP.

That’s a very real possibility. I don’t see the Trumpers moving position, but Trump can’t legitimately run the Presidency from a Georgia jail. And let’s face it, he’s going to jail. So unless Kemp issues a pardon, that only leaves the 25th.

Sometimes a VP reluctantly accepts the call to serve.

Imaging the pressure on a GOP governor of GA if he gets convicted. Kemp might just ride it out, though.

How will the Trumpists react if a VP were to invoke the 25th on Trump?
More peaceful selfie-takings at or near the White House?

A couple of posts behind… But here’s one for you. What if Trump runs on the premise that he’s going to jail and has personally selected ————— (VP) to serve in his stead as a surrogate. That would require Trump publicly admitting to (1) losing all these court cases, (2) going to jail, (3) his inability to do the POTUS job. You think Trump will be willing to admit to any of those?

Even if that’s the plan, when do you think the Trump campaign will publicly say that that is the plan? When do you think would be the best (or “least bad”) time for a Presidential campaign to make such a public announcement? Before Iowa/New Hampshire primaries? Before South Carolina? Before Super Tuesday? After the the primary? At the national Republican Convention?

And imagine the campaign ads and talking points from Trump’s opponents after the Trump campaign announces such a plan!

                                          https://www.yahoo.com/news/gop-presidential-candidate-vivek-ramaswamy-221416646.html

"Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy said China could invade Taiwan without major consequences from the U.S. once he has hypothetically attained the nation’s “semiconductor independence” in 2028."

ANd I am guessing he will solve the Ukraine invasion the same way.
