Of the many symptoms of TDS, one is that sufferers will be unable to think clearly about the fact that, with appropriate security, January 6 would have been a non-event, useless for political messaging going forward.

The problem with much of this post-mortem, is that the American public will simply not pay attention to a more nuanced Truth. The Dems got there "the fustest with the mostest" and controlled the message totally by broadcasting a dog & pony show, orchestrated by a partisan Dem committee abetted by two trump-hating GOP hacks (neither of which are now in office and will probably never see another elected office in their lifetimes).

The American public's span of attention is rather short. These new revelations, while damning to anybody that actually studies politics, will roll like urine off a duck's back (the American public) and the duck won't even know it was pissed on.

Especially that segment of the population easily amused by bread and circuses.

But that's the beauty of it, Jolly.
There is/was a Master Of the Game, and you summed it up in one word: "Pelosi."
She will play the game at the expense of the country, with that sick smile on her face. She would not nuke the country to get her way (if possible), but she would be happy to have people kill each other with the same outcome. I think she loves to see those beneath her suffer.
As I think about it some more, I don't think I like her.

I think the Pelosi may be the most recent and possibly the best argument I could make, to enact laws to keep Congress Critters from enriching themselves at the public's expense.

Now imagine if the most transparently fragile human being ever to have a prominent role in American political life had had a more normal psychological makeup. Think of how much better off the country would be, and the GOP for that matter, not to mention the thousands of individual lives ruined by credulous imbecility.

The Democrats could conceivably bear some responsibility for the lack of security, but to state that Pelosi is primarily responsible for this shit-show seems to rather be overlooking the big fat orange Republican elephant in the living room.

Unlike you, I am able to think clearly about things related to Trump. And I am able to wholeheartedly agree that he would have been better for the country and better for the GOP if he'd been more able to accept the L.

A large group of Trump supporters harmlessly invade the Capitol, exercising their constitutional rights to wander around the building, doing absolutely nothing wrong.

                          And it's the Democrats fault.

I do believe Trump said "peacefully".

I do find that in marked comparison to the Floyd riots.

Yes, it partially is. And some of the riot may be the fault of FBI informants or plants within the crowd.

Here's the problem...While even the most ardent Trump supporters among us will acknowledge what the crowd did was wrong - and do not forget, it was a very small minority of the crowd. If the main crown would have surged and rioted they could have torn the whole damn thing to the ground and danced on the rubble. - the holier-than-thou opposition admits no fault.

Pure as the driven snow is Ms. Pelosi. Pure as the driven snow is the FBI, who had intelligence operators scattered throughout the crowd.

Until the TDS sufferers can acknowledge that maybe some fault lies on their side of the line, fuck 'em. They don't want a dialogue, just a bloody pulpit.

At some point it becomes a test of whether one enjoys socially encouraged hatreds. It’s never hard to detect the whiff of those who do. Who knows how many discouraged hatreds they politely keep to themselves, only to find outlet in these joyous opportunities to spew at a target like Trump and his supporters.

A large group of Trump supporters harmlessly invade the Capitol, exercising their constitutional rights to wander around the building, doing absolutely nothing wrong.

                                    And it's the Democrats fault.

You know, you're blaming the crowd, but you're not pinning any of the responsibility of Trump himself. And he sure as shit hasn't acknowledged any fault.

So give it a rest with the 'holier than thou' accusations while Donald Trump continues to portray himself as some kind of prophet of freedom and justice, and his followers consider to absolve him of any blame.

                                    I was only joking

Let’s assume that he really is some kind of prophet of freedom and justice.

                                      There, doesn’t that feel good?

Does anyone have any thoughts about what the Capitol Police chief had to say?

"Now look here, you Baltic gas passer... " - Mik, 6/14/08

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.

I thought that’s what we are talking about when we consider the intention behind the lack of security.

                                          Education is extremely important.
