I have almost no problem with funding travel and security for government employees.
He's not.

If you're OK with providing transportation and security for former government employees, who get it? When does it (if ever) stop? What are the guidelines and who decides?

The AG decides. Srsly though, why do former presidents and their families get protection when they are no longer government employees?

For the AG to decide seems capricious.
AG could say, "Thanks for the

Yeah or the AG could say, "Thanks for working tirelessly and leading the health/response during a pandemic that killed over a million americans all while being threatened by the public and insulted by the president. For this specific scenario, we'll extend the MOU/contract regarding your security detail so you aren't killed inside your home or while commuting."

Fauci is not nearly the only non-government official who's received this kind of security detail.
