Snow White and the Seven … Whatever They Identify As

dwarves
"Dwarfs"
"Dwarves" is Tolkien-speak.
ETA: And, I'm shocked that Disney used the word "dwarf" as opposed to "little people," which is the sensitive term, amirite? How did Kathleen Kennedy miss that? Good thing she's retiring.

No, remember that Disney stepped in and made them pretty much redo the entire thing. I’m sure there will still be a little wokism in the movie, but nowhere near what it was going to be.

Enjoy the trailer!

No dwarves in the trailer, just some shadows and a quick shot of a dance.
How are we supposed to know if they are a bunch of weirdos and perverts?

She's a single girl who "communes" with farmyard animals and lives with 7 blokes, and you're worried about homosexuality?
It's just possible you've got issues.

So guess who just told half the country and the majority of the country with kids to fick off and not come to her movie?

May her epic flop never be released.

She's killing her career, no studio will risk their money on her, or at least we can hope. There are few people who represent the "rich, vocal, woke-out-of-touch, tolerant except for views I disagree with, insulated NY bubble" category more than her... she was probably surprised when Trump won, too.
-
OTOH, I don't think this flop hurts Gadot at all.
-
I think most of the movie goers will be rooting for the evil queen…

I watched the movie.
Not bad, just not quite up to par compared to Disney's other major feature films.
Many scenes where the set just seems fake -- you'd think they could do better with the CGI.
Best special effects/CGI scenes are (1) when the Queen transform into an old hag (looks so "natural") and (2) the broken glass/mirror scene (very realistic physics/ray tracing).
Plot is fine, though the romantic subplot between the protagonist and the male lead feels extraneous. -
I took my kids to watch the Mufasa (Lion King) movie. I think it's been out since Christmas. Anyway, it was a fine movie... but holy crap the quality of the "animation" is borderline impossible to tell that it's computer generated. Very impressed. Here's a clip.

I miss those days. Now, my daughter want's to watch TV with me, but it's always the most emotionally difficult and horrific stuff. We just barely got through The Last of Us over spring break.

There may have been politicization leading up to the release of the film, but there really isn't much politicization in the film itself. It's still an entertaining film. In the theater I saw families bringing little girls dressed in Disney styled Snow White costumes and they enjoyed the film just fine.

Rotten Tomatoes audience score is at 74%, compared to critic score of 44%. The opposite of what bad politicized films usually are. Strange.

It would be interesting to know how many of the reviews on both sides are written by people who've actually seen the movie.
I'm not going to watch a kids movie I'm not interested in just so that I can write a review about it.
