That shoehorns nicely into Newson's bill to basically offer a choice between incarceration or medication to mentally ill homeless.

Target is removing stores from many cities, like San Fran, Portland, etc... at some point these "blue" cities will learn their crime (etc) policies are idiotic.

Interesting development today. The Democrat mayor announced a plan to require the homeless to participate and drug programs and take drug tests to get benefits. The council is likely to oppose her.

Too bad drug programs don’t work for people who don’t want help.

That is definitely a big problem. There is a pretty high % (maybe 30% or more) who do not and will not be helped. Not sure what you do with these people.

          I think it’ll be closer to 100%.

Hmm. I think that is too too high. There are a lot of people who certainly dont like what they have become because of drugs, but are unable to change just by themselves and need some outside help. I cant imagine that most of the guys or lady's living underneath some highway bridge, going through garbage dumpsters for food, are happy with the way their life is.

Not liking it, able to change and willing to change are three very different things.

              Please love yourself.

@Mik @Aqua-Letifer Agree. Maybe I mis-interpreted @Horace comment. I got the impression from his statement that 100% of the people could not be helped. I think there is a majority who want help. A (large?) portion of those will probably relapse and may need a second helping.

I don't have an addictive personality, so hard for me to understand why people do stuff that they know is super super bad (and maybe even deadly) for them.
