In this day and age? I don't blame him. The guy continued to follow him and be right up in his face after being repeatedly told to stop. What should he do? Wait for the cretin who's a good bit bigger than him to attack?

    Fuck him and his pranks.

Not sure if there was another thread about this, but the guy was found not guilty (good). Here's video of the actual incident:

Here is a version that is cut off right before the shot:

I dunno. Was he in fear for his life? Doesn't look like it.

Did he try to escape (other than walking away)? Doesn't look like it.

The bar for using deadly force is rightly damn high.

I don't think this guy passed that bar. Surprised he was found not guilty.

        Imminent danger?

        After three warnings, yes.

He was found guilty of lesser charges, discharging a firearm in a public place.

The 'prankster' idiot should be charged with aggravated menacing.

If this had been a 5'3" forty year-old mom, we wouldn't be having this conversation.

I wouldn't have any problem with them prosecuting the prankster.

The thought that went through my mind is what if the bullet hit an innocent bystander?

                I was only joking

And that risk is what he was found guilty of.

To be fair, my gladness for the not guilty verdict is very much swayed by my (and the near universal) disdain for this type of youtube prankster.

I get where you’re going with this. All I will say is that the prankster did look pretty frigging menacing and is twice the guys weight. It’s easier to say it wasn’t life threatening on this side of the screen than it is from the other.
