I can’t imagine being happy after doing something like that, but I can clearly imagine the suicidal unhappiness that motivated it. Human happiness being completely relative and directional, I suppose being less suicidally unhappy will feel like true happiness. For a while. But then the equilibrium will contain living life as a wildly objectionable looking person.

Jolly, I am curious. Do you think that transgender condition is a real thing? In other words, there are some people who cannot be "cured" of transgender? They 100+% believe that they are really a girl (if they are a guy) and vice verse.

(Just to note, I do not really know any transgender people. I have met quite a few - there are quite a few in thailand, and pretty much, no-one cares. General attitude is live and let live. But, I am sure there is somewhat of a stigma about being one. They are sometimes referred to as "women of the third gender")

I think transgenderism is primarily a fad, especially of confused or weak-minded people. And rare. I think M&J were right and homosexuality is only around 3% or so. I do think that some people swing both ways and that's not as common as some think.

I also think that monogamous relations between one man and one woman form the bedrock of Western society, and we experiment with the institution at our peril.

And I have a Victorian view that thinks that man is better than his animal cousins, in that the human mind can ultimately control man's actions.

A few short years ago, you would have been ridiculed and ostracized from polite society for even suggesting that Donald Trump was anything other than a grand-standing fool with more dollars than brain cells. A sign of everything that was wrong with modern America, drifting from chat show to reality TV show, desperate for attention he so clearly did not warrant or indeed deserve.

Nowadays, in our more enlightened state, many people (who are admittedly quite possibly confused or desperate for attention) meet with others who feel the same way where they can trade stories about the transformation that occurred, how they suddenly realised they were living a lie, and by golly, you know what, they voted for him - and what's more they liked it!

Call me too understanding if you will, but who are we to condemn them?

The problem is that there are multiple “types” of transgender is and they are all getting confused.

1. Actual biological transgenderism. An actual genetic issue.

2. Kid’s that are challenging traditional Gender roles. For the most part normal kids that won’t take any medical steps on their own but will be annoying and confusing. 20 years ago these kids would have been goths…Maybe they explore the

3. kids suffering from Gender Disphoria. Autistic, Suffering from depression, and generally a witches brew of disorders. I believe that being TG is not the cause but a symptom of other problems. Alleviating the symptom does not fix the problem and they pay a much deeper price. What’s happening to these is an abomination, full stop.

4. Freaks that get weird sexual kinks out of dress up, and don’t know or care where the off switch is, and a need to exhibit. They are generally predators and should not be allowed within a mile of a school let alone giving shows for children. They prey on #2 and #3 and use them for cover as well.
