I think if Payton had gone to Miami, Tom might have given it another shot. He can still play, which is utterly amazing. Most guys lose the deep ball and then their accuracy, somewhere around 40.

I wonder...The 49ers have a really good team that may be a QB away...

This narrative where he chose football over his wife can't be right. That marriage was garbage to him, with or without football, obviously.

        Education is extremely important.

I suspect the marriage was already headed down that road when he first announced retirement. When it was clear retirement was not going to save it, he decided he might as well keep playing.

But that is just what makes sense to me. It may or may not be accurate.

He made the right decision, the wisest decision. Something vital broke with his retirement-unretirement action. It is speculation on my part, but I think like many married people, he derived a lot of his strength from his other half, and when Gisele left she took an essential part of him with her. He hasn't been the same since his return; things haven't gone well for him.

It is good he's going out the GOAT. He earned it.

I congratulate ‘ol Tom on his retirement from football.

45 years may be “old” for American football but barely middle age for human life. Maybe he’ll spend more time with this family, volunteer, do philanthropy, do community service, coach youth football teams, advocate for the less fortunate, take adult education classes, go on spiritual quests, explore other gender identities, whatever makes him feel more fulfilled.

The man and team were investigated, evidence compiled, presented to the commissioner, who summarily destroyed every bit of evidence, issued the harshest penalty in league history, and refuses to reveal what was on the tapes.

Probably the most famous is Elway. He really teetered between pro baseball and pro football. Archie Manning was a high baseball draft choice.

Russell Wilson was drafted and played a couple of years of minor league ball, never making it to the bigs.

Smarts and athletic talent translate to multiple sports.

Anywhere there are rules and regulations around fair play which everybody else follows, Tom Brady will excel.

                                        Education is extremely important.

I’m sure that he would have eventually found his way to Houston in the MLB….On another note, yeah, Brady made the better choice at the time.

He was drafted in the 6th round by the Patriots. A 6th round QB projects to be a decent backup. Obviously, Brady surpassed that, but that’s the expectation. Being drafted in the 18th round of the MLB draft points towards the minor leagues. Backup QB at NFL level > Pitcher at AA Baseball…

I do wonder about the QB of the Arizona Cardinals. He was projected to become a pitcher in the Bigs, and that’s a far better paying gig.

                                          The Brad
