LOL I actually did a report similar to this in 7th grade. Not the exact same, but it had to be an invention and mine was a road where all cars were connected wirelessly to each other so that there would be no accidents and travel would be at maximum efficiency/speed.

Regarding “When You Rent a Car, You Are Not Looking for an EV” (Letters, Oct. 3): Renting an electric vehicle is a great way to learn how to use one at a very low cost. Also, when renting an EV from Hertz, you need to return it with only 10% of charge. Electric vehicles really haven’t lengthened long driving trips for me because the charging happens in the background, while I use the restroom, refill refreshments or get something to eat. If my rental entails more local driving, the key to charging is having a hotel at which you can charge overnight or during the day while the car is parked.

That is really interesting. I wonder how practicable it is to establish and maintain? How affordable?

I'd like to see long term studies on the effect of a charging highway on the people in the car, or riding on a motorcycle.

Battery charge is not the only thing that limits duration.

According to AAA's “Cold Weather Can Cut Electric Car Range by Over 40%”, EVs often lose 12% of their range in cold weather, but the loss leaps to 41% with the heater on full blast.

That's just a couple examples.

This is new technology. It may or may not ever be able to replace internal combustion. I don't think anyone knows yet.

Those are good points. EV’s here do not fare well when the temperatures hit -20 or colder in the winter months here.
