Not bad for a guy with second-hand lungs

Nice going, Jon!

Getting started tomorrow might be kind of slow. Make sure to stretch a LOT tonight. And gobble a handful of ibuprofen.

Very good! You should do some miles tomorrow. Not necessarily 41, but I would do 20-25. Increase it daily a mile or two. Do that every day. Increasing it a mile or two each day.
Did you have any hills to climb?

Problem is I’m going to DC tomorrow and from there to Nashville Tuesday. Won’t be back until Thursday night.
I do plan on renting a bike for one day in Nashville. Other than that there are probably stationary bikes at both hotels. I’ll be sure to spend some time on them.

That is awesome!! Great job!!!

Excellent! The neck pain is a pretty common issue. I also suffer from it sometimes.
Next time, check two things: how much of your body weight goes into your hands? It should be little; the body should mostly carry itself (in the gym, train core muscles). Second, is your back straight or curved? It should be straight (train hip mobility) -
Legs definitely got tired the last 10 miles. But what really got to me is my neck, holding my head up for so many hours with the extra weight of the helmet in it.

Lucky for you the helmet weight is offset by the empty space that helmet is protecting.

I've only done it a few times, but I really enjoy exploring a new city (or even a known city when visiting) by bicycle, often from the hotel itself.
