Mar-a-Lago raided

No nuke codes. It was all about ego.
Federal agents and prosecutors have come to believe former president Donald Trump’s motive for allegedly taking and keeping classified documents was largely his ego and a desire to hold on to the materials as trophies or mementos, according to people familiar with the matter.
As part of the investigation, federal authorities reviewed the classified documents that were recovered from Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home and private club, looking to see if the types of information contained in them pointed to any kind of pattern or similarities, according to these people, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss an ongoing investigation. No grift:
That review has not found any apparent business advantage to the types of classified information in Trump’s possession, these people said. FBI interviews with witnesses so far, they said, also do not point to any nefarious effort by Trump to leverage, sell or use the government secrets. Instead, the former president seemed motivated by a more basic desire not to give up what he believed was his property, these people said.

It's all a strategy to politically wound Trump.
-
It’s always the coverup.

See, if Barry didn't have boxes of stuff he shouldn't have, I might concede your point. The fact is that all former Presidents have taken all sorts of papers.
What you're getting is hyper-scrutiny of all things Trump, from government bureaucrats to the MSM. Then folks like you come along and hear the constant drumbeat of Bad Trump, Bad Trump, Bad Trump and then you're conditioned to always think the worst.
You've been manipulated...

I think you have to concede the point. LOL
From National Archives
"NARA moved approximately 30 million pages of unclassified records to a NARA facility in the Chicago area where they are maintained exclusively by NARA," the archives said in a statement. "Additionally, NARA maintains the classified Obama Presidential records in a NARA facility in the Washington, DC, area. As required by the PRA, former President Obama has no control over where and how NARA stores the Presidential records of his Administration." -

No you wouldn't, because your views are based on your feels, not on any evidence or facts.
What other president refused to cooperate with the national archives? What other president lied to them repeatedly, both verbally and in writing?
As I said months ago, if the fat man had simply cooperated, he wouldn't be in any trouble right now. At least for this.
-
Who else has been hounded for documents that other Presidents had?
There is a standard for Trump. Then, there is a standard for everybody else.
-
1). Surely they aren't the same documents. And other presidents (and Secretaries of State!) have been asked to return materials and have cooperated and done so.
2). We can't judge double standards, no other presidents that I'm aware of have refused to cooperate and publicly and in writing lied to the federal government about documents they've taken. If you are aware of counter examples, do let me know.

And they got through with Bleachbit and hammering hard drives.

and Secretaries of State
Presumably after their lawyers determined what was classified and what was not.
Which Trump had, what, a year and a half to do while he was feigning cooperation with the Feds?

Garland appointed Jack Smith as Special Counsel for Trump criminal probe.
-
Yep, done after the announcement. Nothing political about it.
-
Makes perfect sense. It will delay things but it’s better to firewall it from the administration.
