There have been articles in the Taiwan news that TSCM has been spreading talks that they want to move some of their manufacturing to the US.
Also, isn't the design of alot of the chip machines come from a company in the Nederlands?

If a scenario like this comes to pass, China’s economy is also in the toilet.
Best China could hope for is a Pyrrhic victory.
The aggressor would face the collective economic wrath of the world.
TSMC should just build a fab in a diff country.

That would certainly change China's calculus, but probably not in a good way. But who is the 51st?

DC is just fine the way it is. It was made part of no state for a reason. If that must change for representation, then make it what it naturally is - part of Maryland.

Fuck that. Maryland had its chance and doesn't want any part of it. For good reason.
Why not? You already have Baltimore, which is worse. It would be an upgrade.

"Too expensive a gift" is how it was phrased back when it was considered, and that's even more true today. And in terms of taxes, we already pay out the ass for cleaning up VA's and PA's messes.
