100 Best TV dramas of all time

"The Wire" gets consistently high ratings. For some reason, I just can't get into it.
"Six Feet Under" had the best finale of any TV show....ever.
"The Expanse." Yeah, my favorite SF show. Better than Trek (in any iteration), BSG.
"Justified" because of Elmore Leonard.
But, you have a two year old, so forget about it.

@George-K True, I have a growing list of movies (and now TV shows) I hope to watch at some point, but not much time these days. It's OK, a trade off I wouldn't trade.
Thanks for your other comments...good to know! For The Shield, you may have to remember it was gritty back when the style (including camera work) was somewhat new and groundbreaking. Not sure how it compares...I just remember it being just a level above other shows. Then again, I also really liked 24 with Jack Bauer. That was a fun show.
Totally different...Manhattan was also a great show. Not show how popular it was, but it explores the building of the first atomic bomb.

Bonanza is obviously #1.
It wasn't even mentioned.
How about Gunsmoke and Dragnet?

FWIW, The Shield is the best TV show I've ever seen.
Started watching it.
Wow.
Very disturbing and very good. Mackey is at once contemptible and engaging. Great performance by Chicklis. I'll finish season 1 by the end of the weekend and take a break before plunging on.

@George-K Terrific! I haven't seen it in maybe 12 years which is long enough for me to forget most of the details. Maybe I'll binge watch it in the near future, too. I just watched a few clips on youtube and forgot how good they develop some of the characters over time.

I’ve only seen 23 all though and then another 25 in varying degrees. Interesting how much good stuff I abandoned for one reason or another.
Putting The Shield in the queue.

It's now, what, 15 years old?
What's happened to all the stars?
Chiklis is not doing much.
Dent is not doing much.
And the guy who played "Danny's" partner is in jail, serving a 40 year sentence for murdering his wife....

Not really click-bait-ey. But an interesting list.
At least it's all on one page you can scroll through.
Interesting selections, including The Twilight Zone, The Sopranos, Deadwood....
#1 wasn't really much of a surprise, but I'm sure many others could have qualified.

Started season 5 this weekend. I have nothing better to do, AMIRITE? What can be better than
wastingspending a couple of hours on TNCR before lunch and bingeing on a couple of "The Shield" episodes before lunch? No, Larry, I'm not looking at you...
What I'm really enjoying is the approach of having some "minor" sub-plots carry over from episode to episode. It makes the whole series less "episodic" than what we saw in shows from the decades prior. Also, the whole "arc of corruption" of Mackey and his cronies continues to move forward toward a disturbing and unrelenting resolution.
I have no idea of how it's all going to resolve, but the mix of "tonight's story" vs "let me tell you a LONG story" is very, very good.
Loving it.
