Maybe you’re projecting from your “Tesla’s on its death rattle” days?

I’ve always been a fan of Elon I don’t predict his downfall. I even find his trolling to be funny, which is why I repost some of it here. He’s just going to be constrained is all, and I don’t know if he has the temperament to deal with it.

Same here. I'm definitely in camp Elon.

I wonder what the cost in lost advertising is vs the cost of paying off these employees vs the daily losses he states.

          Turns out it's fake news.

          On Twitter? C'mon man!

Seems that the "account" that was suspended was not that of Elon Musk @elonmusk, but that of @eIonmusk.

The letter after the "e" is an uppercase "i" in the "suspended" account.

          Well played, though.

I don’t care if commercial companies leave advertisement on Twitter. But this is too much to bear.

Yes the FSD thing has always been one of Musk's more impossible claims. I'm happy for you that you remember my wording specifically about a "death rattle", but "we may be listening to a death rattle" differs from "we are listening to a death rattle".

Maybe when Bolsonaro doesn't invoke a military coup and the Republicans don't produce a coup by legal technicality, I will prance around about how wrong your predictions are. Nah, I won't do that. I recognize how carefully you couch your fears in unquantified chance. Would that you give others the same courtesy.

There is a lawsuit being filed by twitter employees, alleging that Musk was legally obligated to provide 60 days notice and retraining opportunities before a large layoff, by CA law.

                  Musk has lawyers too:

According to emails sent to laid off employees and an internal FAQ obtained by The Verge, those impacted will continue to be paid and receive benefits until dates that appear to match the length of the mass layoff notice required by US federal and state law. If they sign a “Release of All Claims” document and separation agreement, all US employees will then receive one month of base pay as severance that is taxed at the higher supplemental income rate.

As I understand it, he doesn't pay more, but he does expect more. That's not a great combination. It's not as if his rank and file engineers are next in line to get blown by Amber Heard.

My response was about the legions of people who have made personal observations about Elon and how that tracks with their predictions of his companies, and that you now join that line. As for boiling down your thoughts into other words, such as that you don't much care for Elon or that you're predicting his failure, of course you will respond that those other words are inaccurate. That's what you do. But a dispassionate reader of your thoughts might conclude that the characteristics you laid out, are not positive ones, and that the effects you laid out, were not positive to his business interests.

As for responding to every bit of the post, I think they were not questions posed directly to me. If you would like my thoughts on something, you should ask respectfully.

I am wondering why they suspended advertising.

The reason given by advertisers seems to be uncertainty.

But if you dig a little deeper, the talking point is that Twitter now allows hate, vulgar and hostile rhetoric aimed at people based on their race, religion, ethnicity and orientation, such as the "n-word," "k-word," and "f-word,".

I can see where those things might be impolite or unpleasant for some.

It also seems that democrats hate Mr. Musk, republicans seem to be more tolerant.

Maybe Texas will pass a law that you can’t stop advertising on Twitter if you operate in Texas, and you can’t not operate in texas.

Maybe the southern poverty law center can begin tracking companies who do business with sites affiliated with hatred. Then the actuaries can tally the cost of being on the list vs the benefit of advertising on whichever site they please.

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.
