Don't think the Ukrainians have enough armor or experience to do full combined arms maneuver warfare. I also think the Russians are using cannon fodder on the front, holding their better troops for the counter punch.
That would be classic WW2 Soviet doctrine...

Drone crashes into residential building in Russia’s Voronezh
Photos of the residential complex allegedly damaged during the attack appeared on Telegram. Preliminary information suggests the drone may have been flying towards the Baltimor airfield but collided with a window of a residential building, reported pro-Russian channel Baza
Russia was quick to blame Ukraine, with Dmitry Peskov, the spokesperson for Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, making the accusation, Russian propagandist media reported.
"The Kyiv regime continues to attack civilian infrastructure and residential buildings. The activities of the Kyiv regime persist, and we continue to fight against it," Peskov lied.
The balls...

I agree that they are using cannon fodder on the front. But I do not agree they are holding better troops back for the counter punch.
There is a malaise among the ranks and junior officers that is growing deeper by the day. I believe they realize that the special military operation has never had anything to do with protecting the Motherland.

I agree. I don't think they have any better troops, or at least not enough to make a difference.

Interesting psycho-philosophical commentary on the Russian mindset of destruction:

Apparently, regrettably and, sadly, the “Chechen hero” is doing just fine:

Wow. What if I told you the invasion failed due to kleptocracy. Talk about hoisted on your own petard.

Maybe this guy is just blowing smoke, but an interesting speculation.
The expert (Yuriy Romaniuk, the head of the “Ukraine in NATO” non-government organization) stressed that Prigozhin is accountable to no one except Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, who wields direct influence over him. Romaniuk stated that over the past six months, the Wagner PMC leader has already begun forging an independent political career.
“(Prigozhin) understands that he has some knowledge of the days and hours (remaining for) Putin’s reign, and he has no doubts about the outcome. He realizes that in the new Russia, commonly referred to as the post-war era, he will have to find a way to survive. Just like he managed to survive in the prison zone, along with his Wagner group and tens of thousands of other inmates.”
Furthermore, the expert stated that, contrary to Prigozhin’s rhetoric, his current focus may depend on the victory of the Ukrainian Armed Forces over Russia.“Because only in the complete collapse and failure of the Russian Federation and Ukraine’s victory does Prigozhin have the sole opportunity amidst this chaos to seize power, akin to the Bolsheviks’ actions in October 1917,” Romaniuk said.
Romaniuk also asserted that Prigozhin enjoys “more than 30% of electoral support in Russia,” according to UK intelligence estimates.
The conflict between Prigozhin, owner of the Wagner PMC, and the Russian Ministry of Defense could reach a critical stage on July 1, 2023, according to UK intelligence. This date marks the deadline for mercenaries to sign contracts with the ministry.
