Interesting piece on Putin and the real situation. Wordier than it needs to be, but worth it, I think.

Interesting to read the Kremlin’s reaction to Zelenskyi’s visit and speech. Once again it is denying any responsibility for its ongoing aggression and placing the blame entirely in the US and NATO. I also it is playing up the delivery of the Patriot system. Makes sense as 99.9% of Russians have no clue that it is a purely defensive weapon against incoming missiles.

A was common Soviet term used throughout the Cold War against the West as well. It is supposed to help to reinforce the blameless innocence of the Russian state in its peace loving aggressive foreign policy and militarism.

"They just push and shove their way through. And a lot of them die. Because they have no tactics, nothing of the sort," another soldier said. "They just go like meat. There were some cases when the infantry said that they went in without any [armed vehicles], or without machine guns."
