Who knows. I'd imagine most folks there knew this was stupid to let a man swim with women because he likes the color pink among other cultural feminine norms, and only a handful of people who prioritize tolerance over sanity cheered him on as he raced the girls.

Right but remember that a lot of people never agreed but went along out of ‘social desirability bias’. I think much of what we saw with the collapse of the trans movement was an old fashioned preference falsification - preference cascade cycle.

I agree that the ideas I’ve been posting about here for decades are now validated by mainstream popular sociology.

I’m not disagreeing, and I didn’t have enough time earlier to post my thoughts on how that extends in both directions. I am sure there were plenty of administrators and leadership at UPenn that personally opposed the decision to allow Lia to compete, but didn’t speak out for multiple reasons. I’m also equally sure that there are many happy to have had this decision actually taken away from the university and being given an out.
I just don’t think the collapse of the Trans moment is as complete as everybody seems to think it is. There are still true believers in positions of power in Universities, Medical Associations, Psychiatry and Counseling groups, and government. Everywhere from local school districts up through the highest levels. We’re only a couple of dozen of months away from President AOC reversing direction with a few signatures, and U Penn reinstating the guy’s records.
