Recipe is here but I cut out some of the fussiness after the first time. I make the farro straight w/o adding the aromatics, and I omit the parsley if I don’t already have it on hand. You do want the basil though.

I had to do some research to find out what farro is.
Isn’t that basically unprocessed wheat? Can one eat that “raw”?

I don’t know, I assumed it was a different grain.
It wouldn’t occur to me to eat it raw, any more than rice.

The brisket is coming along well. A little slower than I expected, but dinner at 10 works, too...

Went to the supermarket this morning and saw that they had some great looking choice porterhouses at the meat counter for 13/lb. Got 2, had one just now. Delicious.

We're going to have BLTs tomorrow - I pre-cooked a batch of bacon this afternoon (oven method) - 9 slices took about 30 minutes with zero work.

We visited BIL and SIL in Indy today. Lovely to go somewhere different, see someone different, beautiful day. Had Portillo's delivered. Yum.

Portillo's Italian beef is among the best. However, there are several in the Chicago area that are as good, or better, depending on your taste.
Another thing that Portillo's does really well is the chopped salad. Their burger is surprisingly good too - a real "char-broiled" taste.
