Article on bad cops foisting victims of police misconducting with spurious charges to cover up police misconduct.

You put on a uniform and you go police the animals down there. I suspect you would cut a few corners, too.

Lots of things we don't know here How many participants on both sides. What was Cage doing before the interaction.

They tell you what the video shows, but they don't show you the video or link to it.

Well they show the video (below) but like you said, the video doesn't show what was happening beforehand. Obviously whoever took the video most likely decided to edit it for a certain starting point.

The comments on that tweet tell you everything you need to know. Refer to Jolly's first post.

The article points out that a lot of things captured in the video are omitted in the police’s own report, including the physical involvement of an officer who is not mentioned anywhere in the police’s own report. If you are suspicious of the video not telling the full story, are you not concerned (or at least curious) that the police’s own report omitted relevant facts?

Yes, the author points that out and that is their view of it. I'd have to read all the relevant materials to make that judgement.

What I also know is that when you have two dozen people fighting, God knows how many watching and likely egging it on, and a handful of cops trying to control it that tensions are extremely high and bad things are likely to happen. Case participated in his own problem.

Dude, it's Mardi Gras in Jeff Parish. I don't give a shit if they beat a half-dozen of them with lead pipes. You don't have a clue what those cops go through at that time of year or the caliber of people they have to keep in line.

Many of those cops work sixteen hours a day for the final week and it's only by God's Grace and a thin blue line that more people aren't hurt or killed during that week.

I think I still have a connection or two in that parish. Ax, if you need an application, let me know.

It is disappointing that you think, and expects, so little of law enforcement professionals. Just like you neither expect not condone doctors for making up diagnoses after working long hours, you should neither expect nor condone officers of the law for filing false charges after working long hours.

Do you submit to the tyranny of low expectations.

A less apt comparison I cannot imagine.

Dude, do you have any idea how hard a cop's job is? Working long hours, never knowing if someone is about to pull a gun, seeing dead bodies and body parts, dealing with every type of person, mentally ill, drunk, drugged, assaulted, performing medical services, body combat, how to use all of the items on your tool belt, knowing all of the radio codes, police driving skills, knowing ummm the law, enforcing the law on idiots who should be following it, writing up paperwork on ever step you take in the field, oh and now dealing with bystanders interfering and/or insulting and/or threatening cops as they do their job. I give the police a LOT of slack.

                            I'm guessing that's a hard no.

One of my favorite leftist dichotomies is that nobody could ever possibly imagine or understand the plight of the oppressed, while at the same time they have an intimate understanding of what it is to be a cop, sufficient to sit in judgment of them and indeed of the entire society that employs them.

                            Education is extremely important.

It is disappointing that you think, and expects, so little of law enforcement professionals.

Unfortunately, if we don't like using the current Ax platform, we cannot simply build our own.

                                  Please love yourself.

This. Things happen for police man so so fast. It is easy to break down a video one/ten of a second at a time and second guess.

Somebody here, maybe Jolly posted a video where they had a "anti-police" activist be put in various "staged" scenarios that police see all the time. He came out of the exercise with a new perspective and appreciation of the work that police do.
