Yeah! Finally managed to get emojis to work again!
I had to lobby a developer to update a system component to make it work again. At least these guys are very helpful.
-
@Klaus Where's the cake at???
-
Now that the emoji plugin is working again, I can drown you in emojis. There are several emoji megapacks waiting to be added. Youโll soon be able to write entire books using emojis only...
-
Awesome. Now get links to open in a new tab or window.
And where is the emoji button?
-
Itโs possible you need to reload or clear cache to see the emoji button.
I believe you can control in your individual settings whether links open in a new tab.

We will show the ancient Egyptians how it's done!!

Klaus, you rock!
-
Kalus, that is great!!!
Thanks so much for your help in getting this set up.

Effect of the server switch on CPU load.
I guess those blue peaks were those places where we'd sometimes get error messages.
-
Cool to see!
-
Seems to be really slow on my iPhone, but not iPad.
-
Who is paying for all this?
Did I miss something, a discussion before the change?
If there is a collection plate going around, someone let me know, and on average how much should everyone kick in at this point.
The CPU spikes seem rather large. Must be someone was angry and really pounding on their keyboard. -

According to rumours, both the Bilderberg group and Mossad pitched in.

The Barge!

Awesome place you set up here, Klaus! Much prefer it over Tapatalk.
One issue I came across is the following:
On iPad, I sorted posts to show most recent first. When scrolling down, it started refreshing and jumping around. Very weird. -
Yes, I also noticed that the behavior with regard to jumping to new posts is sometimes different from what I expected and seem a random. I don't control everything. But all technologies used in this forum are supported by a responsive community of developers who are likely to fix any major issues and respond to bug reports etc.

@Nunatax
I, too, tried the 'most recent first' sorting, and it was a mess. I find it's actually easier to have the most recent at the bottom. Clicking on a thread with new posts always takes me to the range of the newest posts, or close enough that it's easy to scroll down and find them immediately. -
OK, thanks to you both for stepping up with cash, and of course thanks to Klaus for all the additional work. Pretty cool to do that, this is a great group of people!
I click on the "recent" tab that looks like a clock; Taiwan Girl's suggestion. Also use the caret. Seems those are both for navigation, not sure which is best. I do miss the "next unread thread" used in the old forum. That was handy.
I like the new forum. Klaus has put together a clean template, really looks good!
Edit: next come-around, I'd be more than happy to help pay as I'm sure most that are regular or semi-regular would.
