300,000 have already voted in Virginia, vs. about 165,000 at this point of the last Virginia governor's race. This, coupled with late incoming "ballots" from North Virginia will elect McAwful.

I just don't know what margin of victory the Dems have calculated as necessary. Probably about 52-48, to make it look good...

Already spreading doubt with baseless accusations of election impropriety. You do the ideals of this Union a great disservice.

McAuliffe consistently leads in the polls leading up to Election Day. It is very reasonably expected that he wins.

        Nah, just spreading the truth.

I'm going to roll onto my back and cry tears in my ears over your displeasure.

👍 Ax. Whatever the truth, it's the ideals that are suffering right now.

When one party consistently refuses to require a credible ID to vote and champions opportunities for fraud it raises serious questions about whether they hold those ideals.

Ideals are only of value if held to. If proclaimed and ignored they become propaganda.

@mik Can't agree. If something is established as an ideal, then it's an ideal. If it's attacked or damaged, it's still an ideal. Once it's established, the idealism of the ideal -- you should pardon that awkwardness -- doesn't depend on any reaction to it. It doesn't change. Only time can obliterate it, and the ideal of voting hasn't had enough time for that.

Then Jolly's statements don't matter to the ideal.

@mik That's true, but attacking an ideal is still doing disservice to the ideal, if only to call it into question.

This is getting silly. I'll give up if you do.

300,000 mail-in ballots. The ballots most susceptible to fraud.

Color me unimpressed by the sanctimonious arguments. We either have fair elections, beyond reproach, or we are no better than a run-of-the-mill banana republic. And eventually, the man on the white horse will ride in and hit a violent reset button.

If anybody wants to hold an ideal that agrees with cats, they will be inevitably disappointed.

@89th said in McAwful will win.:

Told ya he’d win, I can predict the future you know.

I think he'll win, too, but he must be getting a little worried...

@jolly Oh it's closer than it might otherwise be. Heck, he might even lose if the passion of the turnout is on the GOP side, but still... What's so wrong with that statement that parents shouldn't be telling schools what to teach? Obviously it's not as cut and dry like that, but if the last 18 months have taught me anything, it's that there are a TON of idiots out there, on both sides. Almost like the pandemic has put a flashlight on the floor and we see the idiots scattering into the public arena.

Yes, at the end of the day the parents should have some control over what is being taught (or rather, who is in control of making those decisions), but the idea that the loudest (and most annoying) parents might have any say in what an objective curriculum should consist of, is scary.
