Hay Cats! Your AOC post of the day!

Seen on a blog:
I remember the old Soviet joke, where Leonid Brezhnev showed off his mansion, his country house, his limousine, and his helicopter to his mother. But instead of being impressed, she looked worried: “But Leonid, what if the communists come back?”

AOC on the dress' designer: "Proud to work with @aurorajames as a sustainably focused, Black woman immigrant designer who went from starting her dream @brothervellies at a flea market in Brooklyn to winning the @cfda against all odds- and then work together to kick open the doors at the Met. The Time is now for childcare, healthcare, and climate action for all. Tax the Rich."
So it's okay that James started out black and immigrant and poor, so long as she ended up "kicking open the doors" at the Met.
Got it.
Although I do take exception to AOC's calling James a 'woman' and not a 'menstruating person'. Gotta watch that, Alexaaandria.

Tax the Rich.
My condolences, @Rich . I hope they don’t start a call to Tax the Brad…

Thought some more about this. On behalf of the rightful attendees of the Met Gala, I am annoyed as hell by AOC's thrusting herself into their midst. Rich people have the right to play just like everyone else. They have the right to dress up and drift around in beautiful surroundings and enjoy themselves and each other. Why shouldn't they? They've earned it. AOC invading the party was an arrogant and abrasive act of contempt toward the other guests that they, for that evening, were entitled to not be subjected to. She had no right to be there. She belonged there like a cockroach in the cake icing.
She acted the saboteur. She showed no honor to her party or to her so-called principles. The one bright spot is that she demonstrated her ignorance in a powerful and conspicuous way.
But she had no right.

You're honestly worried that she might have ruined Kim Kardashian's evening?
Personally, I think they deserve AOC.

Personally, I think they deserve AOC.Nobody deserves either AOC or the Kardashian. But I wasn't thinking of the Kardashian contingent. More like the mover and producer types; the tycoons.

Not that I have any use for Aurora James, I totally don't, but hey, Frank, y'all need some support for those numbers. I don't know you. This is doubly true for anything published in the NY Post.

@Catseye3 all of the supporting documents are linked in the article. May I ask for examples of why you think the MY Post is untrustworthy?

@lufins-dad It's a rag, IMO.

It's a rag, IMO.
Which, of course, makes it dishonest.
iirc, Nat Enquirer, a rag by almost anyone's standard, derailed Gary Hart's presidential campaign.
You can be a despicable, but right...just look at me.

No, but it makes it suspect.
I've held it in low esteem ever since they printed -- on the front page, no less -- a photo of the First Lady in the nude.
Despicable. If they'd do that for their circulation, they'd do anything.
