Yes from what people there are saying a stretch of the road was washed down into the lake. It’s the only road on that side of the lake. Big problem for people who live north of the slide and work in Kelowna. They now have to travel close to 60 miles one direction to get to work. That road cuts 45 miles off their commute.

I’m a little surprised the Democrats would want to save Trump from himself on this. I am sure there are plenty of congresspeople on that side who would like to see tariff havoc wrought by Maga. It’s not a political win for them if they block these tariffs, and the economy does well for the next few years.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, 4 million sheep and 1.5 million people. The lonely nights will soon be but a memory.

The irony of that clip is that Roger Stone could have been easily cast as one of the conspirators in the JFK film. Hell, he wouldn’t even have had to act; just be himself.

Fact checking Trump’s allegations from yesterday: "We subsidize a lot of countries and keep them going and keep them in business," Trump said. "In the case of Mexico, it's $300 billion. In the case of Canada, it's close to $200 billion a year." According to the Office of the United States Trade Representative, The U.S. goods trade deficit with Canada was $63.3 billion in 2024, down from $64 billion in 2023. That's far less than Trump claimed on Wednesday. https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/fact-checking-donald-trump-s-claims-about-canada-in-his-global-tariff-speech-1.7500989

Speedy recovery 89. Have several friends and former colleagues who had a bout with shingles. Majority recovered without any long term side effects - those that suffered side effects were already over 65. So you should be okay. I got my Shingrix vaccine last year in the hope of avoiding it down the road in my 70s

I saw a piece on one of his competitors in that race. A guy who wants to build city-owned grocery stores, which wouldn't be profit-motivated, and wouldn't pay rent on their buildings.

I now have two computers, a Mac mini that stays home and a laptop I travel with. I need the cloud to keep them in sync. I also have a physical hard drive backup

@89th said in The dancing clown Bill Burr: I said stop at 1:20! I've never been good at following instructions. Just ask my wife. I really liked Bill Burr's response. This is what everybody should do.

@LuFins-Dad said in 21 random but fascinating scientific facts: So… Did anybody actually try the honey in the pyramids? They did, and expired shortly afterwards due to The Curse of King Tut. Or possibly food poisoning.

Nice Jon! I just got back from a 4-day trip to a waterpark in the middle of Wisconsin where it snowed a bit while we were there, so you know... basically the same thing.

The carrot is of the Trump Administration's own making and imagination. It holds little, if any, credibility outside of a few minds in Washington and Budapest. The Kremlin however immensely enjoys the black humour of the tragicomedy theatre it offers.
