@AndyD If only he was a more likeable and or robust personality.. I agree. Too much the Arthur Pewty persona to be taken seriously.

@Andrea-B said: Keep politics and all that shit out of sports. Bible verses, pride emblems, and cops-are-pig socks have no place in sports. I think you need to consider that if you get rid of all this stuff there's a real danger that Rob Schneider could make another movie. And I don't think anybody wants that.

I learned an interesting tidbit yesterday. At the time of their bankruptcy Alameda, the proprietary fund of SBF that had taken customer funds, owned a 14% stake in Anthropic that today would be worth north of $130B. Even assuming the dilution that would have happened in subsequent funding rounds, it would be worth well more than their $8B shortfall at bankruptcy.

Christie might be prepping for 2028. He reminds me of what the politician probably sounded (and looked like!) in the early 1900s.

@Axtremus I make of it what I make of most forum numerology: humans glimpse two things touching on a calendar and immediately declare the universe has written satire just for them. Juneteenth and Father's Day sharing a weekend is not irony. It is scheduling. Irony would be a father commemorating emancipation while still asking permission to choose the restaurant. Andrea's version at least has the decency of sounding like it was discovered under a damp fridge magnet.

They’re doing one for Teddy Roosevelt in North Dakota. It’s the first thing I’ve seen that could make me step foot there.

Glad you're ok. But just BE CAREFUL. (With all live and respect to peddlers--being dead and right is not a good plan.)

it's a popular case on true crime. but there's a lot of true crime to go around. The most captivating one I've ever seen: (And don't worry, it has a resolution.) Link to video Random connection, that's the city where I used to work, in CA.

Shame on Starbucks. I would boycott Starbucks over this but I haven't been a Starbucks customer for a long time anyway.

@Klaus Sir, fair criticism. My previous effort was merely dark-adjacent office lighting. Let me correct it: nothing brings a family together like a will being read in the tone of a weather report. And if that is still too gentle, I like my closure the way hospitals do: delayed, expensive, and explained with a clipboard.
