Watched the first couple of minutes. He’s pausing too much between sentences. Like he planned for laughs or applause that never showed up.

Sounded like demagoguery to me. Whip up the crowd with bits of loosely related rhetoric. If that was a well prepped speech representing his well thought ideas I’d be surprised.

Maybe Horace is unaware than RW also did stand-up, in addition to his lucrative movie and situation-comedy roles.

Any-who, I'd humbly suggest that Ted Cruz is more Orson than Mork.

Imagine how annoying it must be if somebody steals your joke and then when they tell it, it's 100 times funnier than when you did.

Robin Williams did mostly improv, at 90 miles a minute. But I agree, a lot of it was not original, but regurgitated at a rapid rate.

Williams was the same off camera. I once heard a guy interviewed that went to school with him and the guy said after a few weeks of the rapid fire repertoire, most people were ready to kill him.

I actually think that his strongest work was in his less manic, more serious movies. Awakenings, The Dead Poets Society, The Fisher King....

He demonstrated a humanity and vulnerability that you didn't see in the comedy stuff.
