Does the up or down vote actually change anything (like the order of replies?)

You can choose a view where it does but I can’t imagine anyone doing that.

Safari onMac is not showing the radio buttons for the poll.

I'm using the dark theme if that matters.

I don’t really care but downvoting seems weasely. If you disagree with a post, saw why.

            @jon-nyc
There is the option to disable down-voting, and there is the option to make all votes public, including down-votes.

That's rather the whole point of the forum, isn't it?

I assume we could still have secret ballots for Polls

I'd just prefer that we not have them, but if we must they should be public. It's a statement. It's just another column on the thread list and more useless noise.

I like the idea of upvoting—I think it can help clear a thread of numerous +1’s, or lol’s when the joke happened days earlier.

                      Downvoting seems lame.

                      Either way, make it public.

I tend to be someone that gets annoyed every time the forum changes, if only because I hate getting used to new ways of doing things.

Not so this time around—this ones a keeper.

I wonder how many longstanding forums have gone through the platform changes we have.

I voted no also. As someone said in another forum post, the voting column is distracting (at least to me). I would be happy to get rid of it.

I was willing to try it, but now I'm not impressed with what it offers. The negative votes add nothing to the discussion. The positives can be handled other ways, too. Doesn't seem to fit in with the use of this forum.

As a “yes” voter, I concede it’s kinda nice to be able to +1 (like button) something but may not have much juice to the squeeze and it begins to clutter up an otherwise very clean interface. Unless the sentiment changes, might as well disable it!

OK, the general sentiment seems to be to disable it. It's gone.

Sometimes it takes a while before all changes are visible. Sometimes a "reload" of the browser is necessary. Some changes necessitate a restart of the forum. But eventually it will be gone.

Well, it turns out I had to do some nerd stuff to get rid of the "Votes" column in all views.
