Hero Or Snitch?

@jolly The kid supposedly warned about something that might happen, and you call the reaction "short-sighted". I'm saying in 9/11, the warnings were justified, and it was the feds who were short-sighted, and nobody has come forward to condemn those who tried to warn about 9/11.
I'm not endorsing what the kid did. But your comment that there was short-sightedness is unjustified.

So, we need to destroy families on the possibility the guy may have done something?
How wonderful. And biased. And short-sighted.No, I already laid out in detail how I think it should have been handled.

Turning in your father to the FBI for what amounts to criminal trespass
No, sorry, if the courts press further charges then you are going to be absolutely wrong about that. You don't get to downplay the charges because he's a fringe member of the side you endorse.

There is not enough known about the kid, the dad, their motivations, and their actual intents to make any kind of judgment.
If the Oklahoma City Bomber had a kid and the kid reported the dad beforehand... Good job. If this kid was just embarrassed and frustrated because his dad embarrassed him because of his politics and the dad made some nebulous statement then the kid is an asshole.
There is a whole world in between those two positions, and the truth is that it probably falls somewhere in the middle and they are both idiots.

Is it just conceivable that he is neither a hero nor a low-life scumbag?

What do @Jolly and Michael Carleone have in common?
They both put FAMILY above LAW & ORDER!!!
I do. I place a very high emphasis on family. In this case...
Because I know much of the law is corrupt and applied unequally. Second, because AFAIK, there is no major crime involved.

Your position would be completely different if you replaced "Trump rally" with "BLM rally."

That is for sure.
The snitch would have disappeared a long time ago, or perhaps just hung himself.

Repeatedly.
