    I didn't put the ham in with it. It's such a beautiful ham steak, I just couldn't bear to cube it up.

        I haven’t had scalloped potatoes in ages. My mom made them all the time.

        And I have potatoes.

          Well, they're not exactly health food. Which is why I don't make such things regularly. Lots of salt and fat. I generally only get stuff like that at pot lucks and funerals.

                  Yup Russet. But I like the crispy bits best. The ham steak was incredible - very low salt, all smoky flavor.

                    I very seldom make stuff like this. It was pretty fun and my mandoline worked beautifully. In the oven now.
