I'm a garbage athlete and I beat the women's world record in the 2000 meter ergometer pull when I was 20 years old. As thus did half the team of males that I was on. I may be embellishing that memory. It may have been college women rower's records.

Yeah - including biologically male trans-women in female leagues makes it such that biological females have no chance to compete.

That's what I'd suggest as well, but it will remain a socially insane suggestion until we get to the long list of inevitable problems that will come from the current rules.

I agree. In rare cases, the biological sex is ambiguous, but I’d say unless the person is unambiguously female, it needs to compete in male sports.

Development of musculature in the presence/absence of testosterone creates an expected performance difference across many sporting activities so it is plausible to similarly split competitors by this criteria. Current male/female division is a proxy for this.

There's really only two choices that make sense - either you insist on using the sex at birth, or you create new categories for transgender people. Unfortunately, neither of these options is going to be popular with some transgender people. On the other hand, transgender people insisting on being allowed to compete with other athletes of their declared gender is just going to increase anti-trans feelings amongst the rest of the population, and will ruin a number of sports.

I've seen gals compete in weight lifting who were on the juice. They do very well against females who aren't taking anything.
But they could not compete against males of the same weight.
