    Interesting

On Thursday, Mr. Pence did not go to the White House complex, instead working out of the vice-presidential residence, according to administration officials.

He was not the only one feeling betrayed by the president. In the White House, aides were exasperated and despondent, convinced that Mr. Trump had effectively nullified four years of work and ensured that his presidency would be defined in history by the image of him sending a mob to the Capitol in an assault on democracy.

I've always objected to name-calling based on peoples' appearance, etc.

I find the approbation "turtle" insulting to McConnell and demeaning to the person who says it, yeah, including The Bee. It's reprehensible.

That said, I've made many "Orange Man" posts - all of them were to illustrate the pettiness of the appellation. If you can't say something substantive, insult the appearance. It's a a petty, childish thing to do.

Prediction: You're about to throw in President Trump's comment about the disabled reporter, amirite?

        1. Look at the video I posted about his history regarding that, and get back to me.
        2. As I've said many times before, President Trump is a horrible person. I would not want to associate with him in any way. But I don't vote on "friendly" or "nice." I vote on policy.

Obviously, this is hard to disagree with, however one could argue that where an individual has become famous for making disparaging remarks about how others look, then he or she becomes fair game when their own appearance is rated at less than a full 10.

        I was only joking

          Agreed.

To my knowledge, McConnell has made no such remark.

That's my point. Trump has it coming. Also, he chooses to look like that. He dyes his hair and spray paints his face.

I don't think making fun of McConnell's looks is fair, any more than laughing at Hillary Clinton's, something which was done to excess. I'd argue that women get lambasted (and in some cases praised) for their looks a lot more than men, but that's a whole other topic.

That seems more likely to be because of the great disappearance of the second doses.

Great point. Presumably Pfizer and Moderna know exactly how much vaccine they shipped to the US. How no one identified and pointed out the discrepancy is another thing the public should understand. To be clear I am not pinning this on the manufacturers.

It’s just nuts to hide it as the truth was bound to get out fast. But nuts seem to be what’s on the menu these days.

I guess total incompetence is another plausible explanation.

Seems like the most charitable explanation. The HHS spokes put out a statement yesterday trying to paper over the problem saying ‘it was always the plan’ to not store the second dose but it’s clear from Azar’s comment the day before that he certainly thought there were doses in reserve.

Besides, you don’t resign because of the actions of your boss and then make the resignation effective the day your boss leaves.

I agree the resignation is over the fuck up but it’s insane to think the big lie wouldn’t get exposed very quickly. And you don’t lie to win the election because that is over and you don’t lie to stick it to Biden because the lie is unhidable. So either you are an idiot who commits a crime and leave your DNA everywhere or you don’t know WTF is going on or you blame the manufacturer for lying to you. Or you gave it to all your friends or the mafia stole it?
