My mailman said he’s seen 2-day packages take 2 weeks. And also that he knows there are many trucks just sitting full, without drivers.

I've had it happen with UPS, and most of all with Amazon's own delivery service. They actually gave me my money back for one item they said they'd lost, then it showed up out of the blue three weeks late.

Yeah. I just got deliveries today for items I ordered 12/4. All USPS.

Something I ordered from NYC was supposed to arrive over a week ago. No updates in almost 2 weeks. I’ve heard of massive delays, luckily this item isn’t for Christmas and isn’t time sensitive. Anyone else had similar experiences?

Ordered something last week and UPS shipped ground and it got here today.
I pity every company that ships via USPS. It’s the biggest cluster ever. After all the discussions about USPS in the media for a company to not hedge its bets and rather save a few shackles will pay dearly for that.

I ordered some precious metals recently, as wealthy people do. The company I ordered from recently sent an email warning of massive usps delays due to low staffing at usps due to COVID.

Additionally I read that employees have liberal benefits and may be taking their remaining vacation time too. I suspect the pressure to perform is no where near the magnitude of the problem.

I've had similar experiences with UPS and USPS.

We've had some regular mail seem to make it through the USPS faster than priority mail. We sent a priority mail envelope to Springfield - hasn't gotten there in a week. Holiday cards we sent the same distance arrived the next day.

Today, I ordered a microphone that is shipped UPS. They claim I'll get it on the 24th. I do not believe that - but we'll see...

Update: No update. I’m guessing my package was left in a pile of “screw it, we’ll deal with these after the holiday rush” packages.

Everything that did not arrive in time came today. Better than I expected, but piss poor for things ordered 12/4.

Funny stories. On the flipside it does make me appreciate UPS and FedEx and their ability to ship so efficiently, flexibly, and accurately most of the time. And Amazon’s ability to estimate your delivery date within milliseconds while browsing products.
