If I was Trump, I'd supercede this bullshit and try to have the first people vaccinated before leaving office.

Anyone know what the real bottlenecks are from this point forward?

It feels like we have unlimited financial resources to throw at this. (Relative to how big bailouts have been)

Until the vaccine has been widely distributed a lot of people will refuse and it won’t be difficult to muster a significant enough number to make them back down.

Oh Cuomo gets it. They just lost credit for solving Covid and economic rebound. And the senate will be GOP. Need to scramble to get a new agenda. God I can’t believe it spilled out like that, He must be getting old.

Cuomo is just flat wrong. The government does not have any infrastructure to distribute and administer the vaccine. To try to set that up would take months, by which time we could be well on the way to a vaccinated population.

The private sector does have that infrastructure, however imperfect. We see it every year in flu shots. as far as 'healthcare deserts', that can be dealt with. But a large part of teh problem there is not accessibility but awareness and willingness.

Kind of disingenuous to change “fix it or stop” to just “stop it”.

I don’t know enough about the plan to comment. It is certainly true that no existing pharamacies and few if any hospitals have the infrastructure to store a vaccine at -91C. I’m not sure how the current plan deals with this problem. I also think managing the follow up shot is likely to be poorly implemented by the pharmacies, but I have trouble imagining the state doing it any better.

But I really need to read a more technical version of the objections.

If you don't take it, it can only good happen.

That's the same temperature required to ship frozen steaks and ice cream across the country. I think we can handle it. It's not like we have a choice.

United Parcel Service Inc. (UPS) is one of the providers who is planning to build so-called "freezer farms" to gear up for the rapid delivery of vaccines. There are big challenges, but they are not as big as not having a vaccine to begin with.

I just have to say how much I love watching Cuomo be so transparent about the loss of all the major credit the dems had planned on taking, it’s truly delicious.
