Yeah, it's probably erosion of clumps of sand on a hard MAGA granite rock. It's actually remarkable how many true believers have ditched him lately (e.g., Carlson), or perhaps he knows the Trump era is over in 2.5 years and it's time to start moving on. Unfortunately during the next election the Trump influence will likely still be there like an awkward coworker who doesn't leave your office after the conversation is clearly over.

Unfortunately during the next election the Trump influence will likely still be there like an awkward coworker who doesn't leave your office after the conversation is clearly over.
Occam's razor is that you're witnessing people with actual beliefs and principles change allegiances due to a conflict with those beliefs and principles.

From your perspective, you should at least acknowledge a gradual erosion of his "base" as the poll numbers drop and as his previous supporters abandon him over the Iran war. It's easy to point and laugh at how dumb the base is when you're redefining it daily as it gets whittled down to some combination of people who really do align with his decisions and those who simply agree with whatever he says. (The latter are not represented in any mainstream media I'm familiar with.)
Trump has always been a nightmare. It's reassuring that more people have finally figured this out, but let's not pretend these people weren't duped. I was told I was delusional for saying this, but he's the same guy now that he was then.
So who exactly was delusional?
You not liking him is not a prediction that he'd go to war with Iran. (I don't actually care much about the war personally, but I recognize it as a betrayal of his campaign platform.)

I personally could care less about his goddamned campaign platform as it was unmitigated B. S. from its very inception.
This war he has started however is another matter given the global chaos it is creating for every economy in the world. Trump, like his close friend, Putin, is a covetous and malevolent sociopath.

Him going to war with Iran is a symptom of who he is, not the cause of why I don't like him. The fact that he was primarily self-serving and an agent of chaos should have been obvious.

I meet with Merrill (BofA) every quarter who, between credit cards and checking accounts, has a superb and early view of consumer behavior. One thing they’ve highlighted in recent meetings is that spending has been good but in large part it’s the top 10% of income earners picking up the slack for somewhat decreased purchasing power of the rest. Indeed that top 10% represent half of all consumer spending.

The latest quarterly Trump economic report. Couple of things which you may notice.
- I changed the source of some of the information, so that I get all of it from official US government sources. I went back and re-did the numbers so that they all came from US government.
- I am not sure a "strict" change in % vs. the end of President Biden term tells the whole story. Probably better to graph out the numbers to see trends etc., but I was too lazy to do that. LOL
