The policy needs to go through Congress.

The Constitution is silent on tech developments. It's fair game for the states.

I'm entirely confident that AI oversight will be a bipartisan priority.

          Education is extremely important.

Can we get rid of executive orders already? Or substantially reduce the ability to use it and bypass the legislative branch?

First, you need a functioning Legislative Branch ...

I think not long from now when it sinks in a lot of Trump’s supporters are going to be pissed that he didn’t even try to introduce immigration reform legislation. I don’t think it would have been hard to pass something reforming asylum laws, for example.

It looks to me the majority of Trump's supporter is more into performative pwning of the libs than fixing the immigration system.

                    President Trump agrees with you!!!

In 2012, Trump tweeted, "Why is @BarackObama constantly issuing executive orders that are major power grabs of authority?"

During a campaign event in 2016, he remarked, "The country wasn’t based on executive orders... It’s a basic disaster."

Agreed, totally. If there’s no effort in this direction it was just an election issue.

If the concern is impact on local banks and smaller businesses, you'd figure they should be talking to those local banks and smaller businesses. 🤷

The populists are really unhappy with the idea of AI taking over for human production. Certain American political movements will happily strangle our global competitiveness going forward.
