Dry February…

Thanks! The Stevia soda is odd. It tastes like Diet Coke, not my favorite, but okay for something carbonated and a small bit of caffeine… But the lack of coloring drives home how other senses affect taste. If I pour it in a glass, it tastes odd and a little watered down. Drinking it from a can? It tastes like Diet Coke… I swear it’s the visual look changing expectations, which affect the taste… Ever try a sip of root beer when you thought it was cola? Very different flavor…

The athletic NA beers are nice.
I’ve been alcohol free for a while now. 7 months maybe? Due to being on an antibiotic

I’ll give them a try, but the good ones still have high carb count, so until the weight goes down…

LD I'm a little behind you. In July I peaked at 232 pounds. I'm 6' tall so I "hide" it kind of well, but really I should be around 175-180 pounds. What's sad/funny is in 2005 after college I also found myself at 232 pounds and if you recall during the early PW days for me, 2005-2007 I went from 232 down to 175 over a span of 2 years. Of course, being in my mid-20s, no kids, marathon training... that helped.
Anyway, since July at 232 I'm down to 218 as of this morning. My goal is to be around 200 by the summer. My plan is genius... stop eating food or drinks after the kids go to bed. After our 3rd kid was born, my only free time was about 10-11pm so I'd watch a show and consume calories... easy math. I'm also trying to lift more but I have a long way to go before I'm at @mik or @horace's gymbro level.

Wonderful news! Your health is a good focus.
Father-In-Law lost his foot in January to diabetes. Hearing the glucose numbers get up there was a big wake up call. It also made me realize that small little things that I was attributing to just getting older weren’t…
Still, I was pleased to look back after 2 weeks to know that I wasn’t addicted to the booze physically, and look back this week to see that I’m not addicted mentally, lol.
Not saying that I won’t have the occasional sip of whiskey, but not for another 8-12 weeks. What I am missing is the 2 times a week after work beers with a couple of guys at the pub. I’m hoping Jon’s Alliance Brews will help with that…
