I tend to use 12.5 to 50 depending on the exercise. For me the 50s are for shoulder shrugs. Sometimes I use a 45lb plate instead. My gyms too close to bother with cluttering my basement with all this stuff plus I’m pretty dependent on benches and machines for a lot of stuff.

Yeah, I'd have to get a good bench too. It may not be a practical idea.

I have 25s to 100s in a three level rack. Bought them 25 years ago. Most recently I used the 100s for benching but now I just go to the gym.

I think if I had 5s to 50s it would be plenty for Janet and I, at least for a while. We'll see.

I've gone all the way down the home gym rabbit hole.

I have a full set of dumbells from 5 to 50s. It's great and covers almost everything.

I've progressed past the 50's on chest, but it doesn't matter now since I just added a machine that looks almost exactly like this:

You can do pretty much anything on a Smith machine.

It would be hard for me to get motivated to use a basement gym every day.

I don't have a problem with cardio at home, but I enjoy getting out and going to the gym. Down 60 lbs over the past 10 months.

                    Awesome Mik.

                    Are you doing GLP-1s too?

Yeah, Zepbound. It's quite unlike other diet drugs which were mostly some form of amphetamine. No side effects at all, it just makes you get full faster and not as hungry. I eat breakfast at 10-11:30 then dinner, staying down between 1500 and 2000 calories.

Nice to see you tolerating it well. I have a few friends that had to stop after a few months for GI issues. Not zepbound in particular, but glp-1 agonists in general.

It seems to have the lowest profile of side effects.

You are my people! I have from 5- 55lbs, some in the garage and some in the living room where people always have gym equipment.

One thing I would enjoy about having my own weight rack like that is I could actually keep the weights in the spots they belong in. Crazy how randomly placed they get in the gym.
