    Orin Kerr is the most cited living expert on the 4th amendment and has written about this. True, there's the son of a former meth whore who went to YLS who has a different opinion but I'm not sure any legal scholars have ever cited him for his legal thoughts.

    The whole reason we call them illegal aliens is because they’re subject to our laws.

      And you chose to just hand wave his writings without putting them into your own words. Try it.

        The seething hatred for the constitution is also a recurring theme. We see how much the administration hates the first amendment, the fifth amendment (due process), the 12th amendment (electoral count), emoluments clause, separation of powers, “take care” clause (cf TikTok), and the oath of office (peaceful transfer of power) and I’m probably forgetting 10 things.

        The whole reason we call them illegal aliens is because they’re subject to our laws.

          I don't really buy it. The emotional perspective is so strong. You will see what you want to see, and not see what you don't want to see in previous administrations.

            You’re going to look us in the eye and say he respects the first amendment? That one he violates most frequently including this week with another threatened lawsuit over a poll he didn’t like. How about due process? They outright argued due process is not for guilty people.

            The whole reason we call them illegal aliens is because they’re subject to our laws.

              I do realize that he's an outlier, and he doesn't care about that.

                As always, if Obama had done what Trump did, the armed MAGA would be ready to attack. Assault the capitol to stop Trump from being certified as the winner? Have masked armed men throw people into their car and speed away without identification warrant or due process? Enter homes without a warrant?

                  @89th

                  Mass apoplexy would ensue.

                    Yeah most folks rely on their cheap/skilled labor without thinking twice. Painters, construction, chefs in a Mexican restaurant, farm workers... That's what bothers me, most of those 25,000 non-criminal detainees were just hard working dads trying to make money for their family. Makes me sick to see it.

                      About time to dethrone the Royal Family for starters, stop paying for 23 decadent Royal Estates.

                      And then adopt republican governance?

                      Repugnant.

                      President Farage may only be a few short years away.

                      It is possible we may see him as our PM. I don't want him or his dreadful party in power, the worst outcome; but the usual dissatisfaction with the current ruling party will cause a swing of voters elsewhere at the next General election.
                      Sir Edward Davey seems the best option. Another privately educated, Oxford graduate posh boy, often seen buffooning as a man of the people.
