Spent on interest payments on national debt. $1 trillion in one year!

Spent $4T over past decade, expected to be $14T over the next decade.

Maybe Massie was right to call the Big Beautiful Bill the "kick the can down the road" bill.

Worst image quality but this is a screenshot from a youtube video showing 1 billion (small pile of rice on left) vs just 122 billion (big pile on right), now imagine 7 more of those big piles, that gets you to one trillion.

Unfortunately, there's no such thing as a meaningful vote in a national election that will fix this. A lucky few might be able to cast their vote locally and get a responsible person into congress.

Spot on. We need more Massies. or has our economy grown so addicted to Uncle Sugar that it will collapse without all this printed money.

He and Rand Paul are two folks whom I may not always agree with, but at least I respect them for having principles. Most of congress are actors on a stage - better yet, marionettes whose strings are controlled a select few. I'm not sure how sustainable that kind of third world government is, but right now its path seems assured.

Seems like our fiscal problem is beyond the capacity of our form of government to fix. At least in polarized times. We probably will need a large external shock to get there.

If you don't take it, it can only good happen.

Someone is working as hard as he can to nurture that "shock".

It's part of the human condition to prefer that everybody fails rather than allowing one's enemy to succeed.
