You will most likely get your unemployment anyway. Disagreeing is not likely to be seen as willful disobedience.

They're going to try very hard. And they're going to have the support of HR and two other department heads. All I have are a mountain of emails saying what they received was great. So I'm figuring out how to archive all of that now.

Probably a stupid question, but is it possible to join a union of some sort - do you have time?
I have maybe about 2-3 weeks. After that I can't guarantee anything. Is that enough time?

The reason I ask is my SIL went through something similar. She showed up to the meeting where they were going to fire her and brought along a union rep. Company didn't know she was in a union. At that moment everything miraculously changed.

Just print it and scan it.
It's about 7,000 emails. So I'm exporting them all into a CSV.
There is an export function in Outlook but they are hard to read.
But 7,000 emails will not be useful in any action unless you file a big dollar suit. Just save the ones that support your claim as documentary evidence. I'd just forward them to myself and save them in a folder.

That's an excellent idea.
Unfortunately, I only found one that I could join that wouldn't involve my employer signing a contract with me, and they don't have lawyers on retainer that could represent me in court. They do have lawyers, though, who offer guidance and support. And honestly, I think that's all I need. I get the phone call, and I can say, "before you go any further, I need to talk to my union representation about this, so please forward me your action so that I can consult with them."
I think that'll put the brakes on at least the worst of the shenanigans.

Well, somebody just fucked up.
Last week, our VP told my boss that she's heard very serious allegations about the quality of my work by two other managers in the organization: another VP, and a Director. She mentioned these people by name. She said they have complaints and concerns about me.
My manager followed up with both of these people. Not only did they completely disagree with my VP's assessment, they denied ever having these conversations, and were angered to hear that our VP was putting words in their mouth. They both offered to give my manager written statements supporting me if needed.

Man what garbage. I hope the manipulative and dishonest slime bags get figuratively punched in the face. What's in it for them to get your fired, anyway?

I pissed her off when she started because I refused to work Mother's Day Sunday. She hates my boss because he won't admit that he's stupid, and she hates my one remaining co-worker because she didn't hire her. This woman's a fucking fruit loop.

That kind of bullshit and drama would make me start looking for other employment as quickly as possible.
Just amazing...

Already got one. It's part-time only right now, but it takes priority over that other damn place. My boss and I consider every other paycheck from them from here on out punitive damages.
That's not the only thing going on, though. Man oh man, will I likely have a story for you by the end of the year.

OK.
Call her at 3:00 am. Whisper softly and ask whether she's had her brake lines checked.
Quietly hang up,The next night, call her again. Breathe heavily.
Quietly hang up.Oh, almost forgot. Don't use your own phone. Steal a colleague's for a couple of days.

Steal a colleague's whom you hate for a couple of days.
FIFY.
Um. Edited to add George's post which otherwise disappears.
"Steal a colleague's whom you hate for a couple of days."
OK. Edited again. What George said is above. What I said is below.
As Jon would say: "Jeesus" Wait! I just added the Jeesus part. Not sure if that screws things up even more. WTF. George didn't say anything, either did I. This is all a dream.Seems that might be the easy part!

Well, maybe it is possible that there is someone at your company with the name Aqua-Lietfer in stead of Aqua-Leitfer
Maybe they just got the wrong guy!!!

Imminent now.
Our dept head has been talking about making two new hires for months now: a director position, and a grunt. We've been asking since forever what the job description of the director position was going to be—oh, she was still "working that out."
We saw it today, when it was sent to the whole company. Half his job description is my current one.
They put out the second job ad out today. Did not clear it or even talk about it with my boss, or any of us remaining. That job description matches his main responsibilities, and my other half.
My boss attended the senior leadership meeting today, like normal. He said it was a very strange vibe. CEO was wondering aloud how big they really needed to be, and what was the right size for the organization?
I probably have anywhere between a week to a month left.
-
Could be a bluff. You have other work anyway, right?
Already sent in their first invoice and am working on project 2.
And my boss and I are actively getting 2 more things off the ground. We're about a week away.
Also have almost a year's worth of savings.
I've been preparing for this shit since January.
Still, though, nothing's guaranteed. So, it's stressful.
