I’m cdeeply offended that those two were the choice America was offered, but yeah. I would.

Yea. We all know Trump is a POS. But he's the best we have had in a long time. To be honest Ax, your BEST posts were the ones where you posted ten years of dinners you ate before you deleted them. (Or something like that.)

That was about five years ago... what have you been up to?

Trump is news. We discuss news. It doesn’t help that he’s prolific with the scandals, corruption, and chaos. If you’re a Trump supporter I can see why reading about it here could get old.

Politics are temporary, relationships are less so, IMO. I’ve seen the discourse here change from Bush to Biden, I know others have seen even more. Folks come and go, read what you want, ignore what you don’t like… I like the wide range of ideas and experiences and values your online friendships far more than temporary political events.

Sorry haven’t read thread yet. Hope it’s not out of place. Been trying to potty train our 2 year old for last two days, now I’m sitting in the dark in her room as she sleeps on my left arm, so I’m typing slowly with one thumb. Lol

All good people here. Love you all! 😘

I think I mentioned this when I posted a picture of my childhood home.

This place reminds of the square in front of the temple where people would gather most evenings to drink (mainly tea), smoke, and solve the worlds problems.

People didn't always agree with each other, but at the end of the evening, things were (mostly) smooth and everybody returned the next evening for more of the same. LOL

This in turn prompted me to go suite shopping and I was surprised to learn that "pleated pants" are no longer a thing. While I bemoaned the loss of "pleated pants" and researched alternatives, I learnt also that the places that I thought I would get a new suite for no longer expect suites -- slacks and jeans are the norm now.

I have since transitioned from Walmart coutures to Columbia fishing shirts and Costco jeans.

Footwear has largely gone from leather to Sketchers. Still no shoelaces. I even got rid of the Velcro and just go with slip-ins these days.

A pair of cheapo yellow foam sandals that I have been wearing every day in the house for 15 years still refuse to wear out. So at least I still have that constant in my ensemble.

Aren’t the Skecher slip-ins great? Sadly my assortment of Allen Edmond’s shoes goes unused.

Funny, just yesterday my wife was talking about how great her sketchers slip-ins were that she got from Costco. Maybe I'll get a pair.

Timely. I’m going to go try some Allen Edmond’s this Thursday. I got very used to Rockports for a decent looking but VERY comfortable casual dress shoe. Back about 15 years ago, I was spending 12 hours a day on my feet. The Rockports looked okay and were built on a sneaker platform, so we’re very comfortable. And while they were on the high end cost wise of the disposable shoes (you don’t really repair Rockports) they held together VERY well, and I could typically get 2 years out of a pair (1 year as the dressier option, year 2 as the slightly scuffed more casual option). That was a decent enough trade off, IMO. Maybe 4 years ago, the quality took a big nosedive, though. So the past two years, I’ve been kludging together cheap dress shoes just due to not having the time or inclination to go out and really look for higher quality shoes. My better half has convinced me that’s far more a waste of money than going out and finding an upgrade like Allen Edmond’s or Carmina which can be repaired/resoled/etc… So this Thursday, I get the joy of going shoe shopping with my lovely bride.

                                On style:

You people need a STYLIST! I have one and he's fairly inexpensive. Mine's Tim Gunn, the gayest guy in the world. He was president of the Parsons School of Design.
He's on Project Runway. I have never actually watched a show BUT he shows up with an outfit, I copy the outfit as best I can with what is is my wardrobe. Life can't be better!

I have a lot more hair and I'm WAY better looking but we're the same age and he's got style and I "borrow" it.

@Tom-K Tim Gunn, yes indeed, a stylish dresser!

I’ve a collection of Columbia fishing shirts (men’s & ladies). That material never dies. Always looks great. Great for hot weather & menopause too!
I wish I could post more here. I’m just flat out busy.
I sure like when people post their travel pics … It’s so unlikely I’ll ever get to visit these places, but seeing everyone’s pics really makes me smile! I learn so much.
I’m leaving town, heading north when the G7 hits town. It will be wild and stupid crazy here, mainly because of Mr Trump’s appearance after his birthday parade. They actually had school children tear out buffalo berry bushes near Kananaskis so your dear leader, security, anyone else wouldn't be threatened by bears. FFS.

                                      @blondie

FFS.

Am going to be in Kananaskis from 5 through 7 June camping and lake kayaking. Our graduation present for the grade 12’er.

                                      Elbows up!

I used to wear Rockports, too. Very comfortable.

There is a saying (I'll butcher it) out there about spending money is wise when you're buying something that separates you from the ground (shoes, tires, mattress...).

I wore Rockports for a long time, but I agree their quality went downhill.
