The DUI hire is lying about it even though the NSC already confirmed the texts as did, indirectly, Rubio and BetaFace.
He didn't tell a literal, objective, lie. You should appreciate that, jon.

One thing I’m curious about is how they ended up adding him. Did they mean to add someone with a similar name or initials? Or was it really just a fat finger mistake? Either way they’re very lucky he handled it very responsibly.
It seems Waltz is the main person to blame for adding JG to the group chat. Others might not have thought to double-check each name in the group, although they should’ve..among many other national security communication concerns. Amateur hour.

In today's world, I suppose not too unusual. If on a group chat and you are accessing via mobile, you just see a couple of initials, and then +9 (for example) others.
Dont know if each of those people is familiar with each of the others, and if they did check, they probably just assumed is was someone in XX department.
(not to say this wasn't a bad thing, but I can kind of understand how it happened on a messaging app)

Someone made a ridiculously careless mistake, then everybody else understandably didn't bother verifying the attendee list. And of course, using that app to begin with is against the rules, and as it happens, that rule in this case, would have prevented this mistake. Since Goldberg is presumably doesn't have an account on approved messaging platforms suitable for military matters.

The inability of certain individuals to just admit that they fucked up and apologize is quite entertaining, and enlightening.

One person and one person alone will get punished for this.
The guy at NSC who confirmed on the record that the texts chain was real.

Interesting but I doubt anything will happen.

I don’t see how they don’t get out of this without a head rolling.
I’m really looking forward to the dancing on this one.
Comedy gold.

Someone will. I may be a junior level however.
Somehow the fact that they were using this against rules, etc. will be justified.
"Of course, this is different from Sec Clinton"
"No, Sec Hegsweth and President Trump talking about people who leak classified documents does not apply here. That is only for people who INTENTIONALLY do it"
etc.

There’s no point in firing anybody even for the optics, unless it’s Waltz.

Hahahaha it's so awkward. I wonder if Goldberg took screenshots (probably not, since the app likely says a screenshot was taken) or pictures of the content. I doubt it, but then again.... journalism.
