    That Rio trip was the last time I smoked pot. I was never much of a fan.

          I was at home in Virginia with my mom and my siblings, watched the new millennium start on TV. My dad was at the hospital with my sister who was dealing with something (I forget what), I think we were on the phone with my dad when the clock struck midnight, though.

              We were in Canada, and had been married just over two years, no kids. We were supposed to go to a party but Mrs Phibes was under the weather so we watched the new year in on TV.
