Apparently I was washing dishes a little too vigorously… Standing at the sink, I felt my knee tugging a bit then it just kinda went out…
This getting old crap is for the birds…

Oh man that sucks. Can you put any weight on it?

Yeah, but if at the wrong angle it buckles. I put on a brace and can hobble around okay.

Probably something minor, like an ACL tear.

Maybe a grade 1. Not really any pain, mild discomfort and just the occasional loss of strength.
Do I need to go on IR?

After you get an ortho consult, you'll know more.

Meh, they’ll just want to cut it open to see what’s going on.

Might want an MRI.

Not necessarily. I went to an ortho about 10 years ago for knee pain. He did a joint aspiration which was unremarkable. He thought torn meniscus. MRI showed normal meniscus....and a tumor.

Could be meniscus too. Lots of moving parts. Just don’t mess around - find a top ortho and see them.

I’ve twice had remarkably good results from steroid injections when I had knee pain. Haven’t had any for several years and I do pretty intense weight lifting. Every now and then the left knee will be a little crunchy if I move just so but no pain.
